Two new compositions “Authenticity” and “Crush” featured at The Modern Collective’s debut concert on Nov. 12th!

Very excited to announce that two new compositions “Authenticity” and “Crush” will be performed at The Modern Collective’s debut concert at St. John’s in the Village on Saturday, November, 12th!

The Modern Collective, an eclectic art song initiative, provides an inviting environment of experimentation, creative nuance, and a wide range of musical perspectives. It involves a group of poets, composers, pianists, and vocalists who come together to collaborate on the beauty of modern text and new music. Come experience the beauty of how words are interpreted within and beyond music.

Five new and modern poems will be presented in the concert. Each poem will be presented in free verse and two musical renditions, ranging in styles such as classical, jazz, and musical theatre. All pieces featured in this concert are world premieres.

Words and music both embody the arts of expression, interpretation and story-telling. How we see words can carry so much weight in our minds and music amplifies the direction to any story. And what if... we heard the same text expressed in three different ways in the span of 10 minutes?

Come see it in person, or purchase tickets to the livestream here!
